Dr. Deborah Longwill, Dermatologist at Baptist Health South Florida, says collagen is one of the basic structures of the skin and to prevent any damage she recommends avoiding sun exposure and making sure you are drinking a lot of water every day.

She also says we have to avoid the constant rubbing or irritation of the skin, because it will break down the collagen and it will make the skin thinner and then you will end up with wrinkles.
