She advises being aware because sometimes people don’t know how to use appropriately their body biomechanics.
Overweight, ageing, smoking, diabetes and heart diseases also affect the body and may cause back problems, she says.
WHAT ARE THE COMMON BACK PROBLEMS WE EXPERIENCE? AND OUT OF THEM, HOW MANY ARE AVOIDABLE? I WOULD GUESS 100%. >I THINK IT IS VERY DIFFICULT SOMETIMES TO AVOID. I THINK WE’VE ALL EXPERIENCED BACK PAIN. I THINK THAT A STRAIN IS, OR JUT THE CERTAIN WAY THAT WE, EVEN AS SMALL AS PICKING UP SOMETHING FROM THE FLOOR, WE MIGHT NOT USE OUR PROPER BODY MECHANICS. SO IT IS COMMON FOR THESE THINGS TO HAPPEN TO US, AND TO TRY TO AVOID THEM IS JUST KEEPING IN MIND HOW TO GRASP CERTAIN THINGS. NOT OVERDOING IT. AND THERE’S OTHER THINGS TO TAKE INTO EFFECT. ONE OF THEM IS OUR WEIGHT. >WE ARE A HEAVIER NATION, AND IT HAS AN EFFECT ON OUR JOINTS AND OUR BACK, PART OF OUR MUSCULATURE AND SKELETAL SYSTEM. >AND THE OLDER WE GET, THE MORE DEGENERATION THAT OUR BONES AND BACK GO THROUGH. AND A LOT OF US, ALTHOUGH IT HAS DECREASED IN OUR NATION, SMOKING. CERTAIN CONDITIONS OR DISEASES SUCH AS DIABETES AND HEART DISEASE, IT ALL TAKES INTO EFFECT.
