Kids: Allergies in School
Clara Lerma, Corporate Manager of Wellness Advantage with Baptist Health South Florida, says for parents with a kid suffering from severe food allergies, it is concerning to teach and educate the children and adults that are in that child’s everyday life. It is very important for them to be aware of how serious the situation is.
She explains parents have to sit down with the educator and let them know the severity of the allergy. If necessary, they can provide the teacher with EpiPens in case accidents happen, because it is always good to be prepared.
