Doctor Jose Llach, Medical Director of Free Standing ED at Baptist Health, considers the psychiatric emergency room is beneficial to have that extra resource available to a community, like recently happened in Omaha, Nebraska.

Dr. Llach argues these rooms can be beneficial for persons, because there are patients that come into ER with a mental condition. The physician has to take this very seriously because it is a mental illness and it can be treated like another condition.
